Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

  • Day shift
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Self-scheduling available
  • 3 weekend shifts per schedule
  • Holiday shifts required

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license for Washington or a compact state
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • 2 years of ICU experience
  • Prior floating experience
  • Epic experience

Clinical Setting

  • High-acuity float pool covering critical care, observation, med surg, general surgery, ortho surgery, short stay surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, telemetry, and progressive care

Responsibilities

  • Titrate drips
  • Read telemetry strips

Unit Details

  • Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by acuity, typically 1-2 and sometimes 1-3
  • Charge nurse and resource nurses do not take assignments
  • Nurse aides are usually present
  • Common equipment includes vents, high-flow, BiPAP, and CPAP

Orientation

  • General hospital orientation
  • On-unit orientation
  • 2 ICU shifts of unit orientation

Dress Code

  • Royal blue scrubs

Parking

  • Parking is available at the hospital garage with daily and monthly options, at additional cost
