Travel RN - Cardiac ICU

Location

Redding, California

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

12-hour day shifts
Every other weekend
First to float to tele or med-surg units

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
CVICU (2 years of experience)
CVICU experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
PALS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Unit Details

30-bed Cardiac ICU
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2
Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
No nurse aides
Ventilator support available
Hospitalist in house 24/7
Respiratory therapy available 24/7
Pharmacy available 24/7

Additional Information

Proctored dysrhythmia test on day one for telemetry, labor and delivery, emergency, and critical care nurses
Cerner is used for the unit
Navy scrubs required
1 day of unit orientation
NIHSS is preferred

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
