Registered Nurse (OR Specialty) - North Dakota, Fargo
Job Details
- Specialty: OR - RN Specialty
- Location: Fargo, North Dakota
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8 to 10 hour days with rotating call shifts
- Call Schedule: 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends
- Floating: May rarely float to other campuses if needed
- Unit Size: 25 OR suites, averaging 75 to 100 cases per day
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
Job Description
- Circulating nurse duties including sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, positioning patients for surgery, documenting in electronic records, and setting up/using OR equipment.
- Procedures include general surgical cases, GYN, urology, laparoscopic, strong neuro and ortho cases with navigation equipment.
- Experience with robotics (DaVinci preferred) is highly valued.
- Equipment used includes computerized charting (modeled after EPIC), Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation for neuro cases.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent OR RN experience (higher years of experience requirement applied)
- Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with level 1 trauma status
- Experience working in an acute care facility with 15 or more OR suites (outpatient center experience not accepted)
- Strong neuro and ortho surgical experience; must be comfortable working in general surgery as well
- Current RN license in North Dakota or Compact license
- BLS Certification
Additional Information
- Must be willing to stay late as needed beyond scheduled shift hours (not considered call back)
- Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
- Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Prior work with this employer requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
