Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery RN

Location

• Show Low, Arizona

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift Details

• Night shift (6 PM – 6 AM)
• Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• One on-call shift per 4-week schedule

Unit Information

• 7 Labor & Delivery beds
• 2 Triage beds
• 10 Postpartum beds
• Approximately 1-3 births per day (~830 births per year)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2
• Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
• Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians, Health Unit Secretaries, OB scrub techs, and Health Unit Coordinators
• 24/7 pharmacy on site
• No in-house OB/Neonatologist; nurses must manage emergencies until provider arrival

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Provide care in Labor & Delivery and couplet care settings; may float to MedSurg or Emergency Department if experienced
• Proficient in fetal monitoring and able to respond to fetal distress
• Experience caring for high-risk patients, including those with pre-eclampsia
• Must have strong assessment skills to handle OB emergencies independently
• C-section experience required

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification
• Experience working with high-risk patients
