Overview

• Contract role in Coos Bay, Oregon
• Day shift, 36 hours per week
• Functions in all phases of perianesthesia care, including Pre-Op, PACU Phase 1, and PACU Phase II

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oregon
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
• Perioperative experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty certification (CPAN or equivalent)
• Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinates interdisciplinary care to support patient readiness for surgery and prevent avoidable surgery cancellations
• Assesses patients before, during, and after surgery, including physical status, lab values, medications, learning needs, and understanding of the procedure
• Manages care during anesthesia recovery and moderate sedation, including medication administration, monitoring, and airway management
• Identifies and interprets cardiac rhythms and uses cardio-respiratory monitoring equipment
• Performs EKGs as ordered
• Assists with invasive and non-invasive procedures
• Teaches patients and families about illness, tests, medications, healthcare, disease prevention, and wellness promotion
• Documents patient care in the electronic medical record and paper format as needed
