CT Tech - Radiology

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

Level III trauma center with 198 beds
Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology, pediatrics, behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
Radiology Department uses General Electric equipment
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Patient population: All ages
Shift: Monday-Friday evenings, 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36-40
Weekend hours: 36
Occasional on-call required
Float requirements include OR, Emergency Department, fluoroscopy, etc.

Required Qualifications

Valid CT Technologist license in New Mexico
ARRT certification in CT and Radiography (R)
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year

Additional Information

Must pass area-specific competency exam
Periodic call required

Pros

Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.

Cons

It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
