Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit and Facility Information

  • 6 ICU beds with a 2:1 patient ratio
  • Serves all age groups
  • Electronic Health Record system: Medhost Clinicals
  • Float requirements: May be required to float to Medsurg, ER, etc.
  • Call requirements: As needed; must be within 30 minutes of the hospital when on call
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
  • Weekend hours: Alternating weekends
  • Dress code: Scrubs of any color; casual wear is not acceptable

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Skills in ventilator management

Job Responsibilities and Skills

  • Provide care for ICU patients with complex needs
  • Manage ventilators and continuous medication titration
  • Work professionally within a multidisciplinary team
  • May be required to float to other units such as Medsurg or ER

Additional Notes

  • Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
