Unit Details
- Unit: Labor & Delivery
- Beds: 12
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Unit Staffing: RNs, unit secretary, OR techs
- Floating Policy: Travelers float first
- Documentation System: Meditech (software familiarity, not a credential)
Schedule
- 3 x 12-hour shifts
- 3 weekend shifts
- 1 call shift for RNs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience, with Labor & Delivery experience within the last year
- Experience working with neonate patients
- Experience circulating for C-sections
- Certifications: NRP, ACLS, BLS, and AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM
Clinical Skills
- Advanced skills needed: Care of the laboring patient, care of the newborn immediately after delivery, circulating and recovering c/s patients
- Procedures performed on unit: Vaginal deliveries, c-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, tub labor
Patient Experience
- Shared decision making
Dress Code
- Scrubs are not provided. Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray required.
