Unit Information
- Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Number of beds: 26
- Number of staff: 17
- Shift staffing:
- Day shift: 1 supervisor, 7-8 nurses (day into evening)
- Night shift: 2 nurses
- Patient ratios: 2:1 (general), 1:1 (pediatric)
- Equipment: Recovery room equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Surgical recovery of high acuity patients including:
- Neurological
- Vascular
- Kidney transplants
- Gynecological Oncology
- General Oncology
- Reconstructive Plastics
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PACU recovery of kidney transplant and TAVR patients
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
