Travel CST/ORT Opportunity - Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Position Details

• Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician)
• Location: Portsmouth, NH
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM + Call
• Call Requirement: One weekend per month and 2-3 days per week

Experience & Certifications

• Required Specialty Experience: 2 years in a hospital setting
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
• Required Clinical Experience: Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic surgical experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Unit Information

• Unit: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
• Number of Beds: 3
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 scrub techs, 1 aide
  • Night Shift: 3-member call team (includes 2 RNs and 1 scrub tech)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 3 staff members per OR
• Equipment: Open Heart surgery equipment
• EMR System: Meditech

• CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
• Valve surgeries
• TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
• EVAR/TEVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair / Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair)
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Fistula creation/interventions
• VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery)
• Thoracotomy
• Fem-pop bypass
• Angiograms with interventions
• LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device)
• RVAD (Right Ventricular Assist Device)
• ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
• Level 2 trauma coverage for vascular and thoracic procedures

Preferred Skills

• Experience scrub nursing cardiac and vascular cases
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
