Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience to provide care in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting. The facility is a 49-bed unit specializing in rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehabilitative services.
The unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit and can have high acuity patients. Nurses are expected to assist with patient safety, including helping CNAs and responding to call lights.
Work Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend and holiday rotations
- Call requirements: Yes
- Breaks: Two 15-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid break per 12-hour shift
Patient Care & Unit Information
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 7 patients
- Patient population: Adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation with high acuity needs
- Equipment used: Mobility aids (ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards), vital sign machines, EKG, blood glucose monitors, and electronic health records (EPIC)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- At least 1 year of recent experience in a rehabilitation setting
- Med-Surg experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Notes
- Attendance and punctuality policies are strictly enforced
- Staff must adhere to scheduled shift times unless approved by a supervisor
- Orientation dates available throughout the year
- Local candidates are not accepted for this travel position
