Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Unit Information
- Unit: 3rd Floor, Neuro Med/Surg
- Number of Beds: 20
- Patient Ratios: 6:1
- Staffing: Tech support available on day and night shifts; Unit secretary 7am-7pm
- Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximetry, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Floating Policy: Contract labor floats first; rotation used when multiple contract staff scheduled
- Patient Experience: Provide attentive and compassionate care, bedside shift report, engage patients and families in plan of care
Required Qualifications
- Licenses: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med/Surg nursing (highest required years of experience)
- Skills:
- Med/Surg experience
- Ability to prioritize care and multitask
- Start IVs
- Basic wound care
- Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
Additional Information
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
- Hospital Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center
- Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, with weekend requirements
- Work Environment: Supportive tech and secretarial staff, use of advanced communication technology
