- Number of Beds: 70
- Number of Staff: 120
- Day Shift Staffing Example: 1 charge nurse, 2 resource nurses, 2 admit nurses, 7-15 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3 patients (couplets)
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: CPN
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year as an RN
- Must Have:
- Mother/Baby experience
- Preferred:
- NICU/postpartum experience
Typical Procedures Performed
- Mother/Baby care
- Lactation consultant support
- Phototherapy
- Blood sugar checks
- IV antibiotics administration
Certifications Required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Work Environment
- Floating: Rare, but may float as a resource nurse
- Dress Code: Scrubs (specific color/attire not specified)
- Schedule: 3-4 weekend shifts per schedule
- On Call: No call required
