Travel RN Opportunity – Labor & Delivery / Antepartum

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Specialty Details

  • Unit: Antepartum (Obstetrics / Labor & Delivery)
  • Number of Beds: 19
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Documentation System: Meditech & CPIN (Primary)
  • Shift: Weekend every other weekend
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Floating: As needed

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Specialty: Labor & Delivery or Antepartum nursing
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in high-risk Labor & Delivery or Antepartum (highest requirement)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
  • Licensure: Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Patient Care Skills:
    • Experience managing high acuity patients preferred
    • Magnesium Sulfate management
    • Preterm labor management

Preferred Skills

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • RNC (Registered Nurse Certified)
  • Experience with Meditech electronic health record system

Work Environment & Policies

  • Newly renovated Women’s Services Unit
  • Scrub Color: Blue Insignia Scrubs required
  • Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails only; no artificial or gel nails
  • Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors; shoulder-length or longer hair must be pulled back in the lab
  • Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
  • Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible nose, tongue, or other piercings
  • Attendance: Company-wide attendance policy applies

Additional Notes

  • Scheduling will be arranged to fill vacancies; holiday requirements discussed during interview
  • Floating to other units as needed
  • Experience with high acuity patients is preferred
  • This role requires strong obstetrical nursing skills in a high-risk setting with specialized fetal monitoring expertise
