Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in Iron River, Michigan
• 13-week contract
• Start date: 10/19
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Can be low censused and put on call; call back minimum is 2 hours
• Primary location: Aspirus Iron River
• Radius rule: must be outside 50 miles of facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• ED experience
• Candidates with both Med/Surg and ED experience are highly preferred

Float Scope

• May float to ED within competency

Unit Information

• 25-bed Med/Surg unit
• Typical patient ratios: 1:4–1:5 days, 1:6 nights

Clinical Focus

• General nursing care for primarily geriatric patients, including CHF, COPD, and diabetes

Systems / Skills

• Strong charting experience with Epic EMR, CareScape patient monitors, and Pyxis

Additional Notes

• Travelers who can work across multiple departments are ideal
• Med/Surg-only candidates will be fully considered
• Any colored scrubs are required
