SICU Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in New Orleans, Louisiana
High-acuity ICU assignment
Patient ratio: 1:2
Float requirement to other ICUs and SDUs
Manager can accommodate 3x12s or 4x12s
No block scheduling requests

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with PA catheters
Experience with balloon pumps (IABP)
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Experience caring for post-operative CABG patients
Experience caring for valve replacement/repair patients
Experience caring for aortic dissection patients
Experience with Epic

Preferred Experience

Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and balloon pumps

Clinical Focus

Surgical ICU care for general post-op recovery patients
May care for post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter patients
May also support transplant recovery patients

Schedule

Day shift
3x12 hours
6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
36 hours per week

Assignment Notes

Traveler may be assigned to an emergency team during emergency events and may be expected to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team
Assignment is subject to emergency preparedness expectations during hurricane season and other emergency events
