Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

Location: Eureka, California
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights, 3x12
Contract length: 26 weeks
Start date: ASAP
Patient population: High-risk OB; culturally diverse population
Unit note: Postpartum experience preferred

Schedule and Work Setting

Weekend coverage is required to meet staffing needs.
Travelers float first within their scope to meet facility needs.
RN circulates on cesarean sections.
Average daily census: 15–20
Visits per day: 20
Rooms/beds: 11/15

Required Qualifications

Valid California RN license
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
First-time travelers are accepted
Pending license is not accepted

Required Certifications

BLS
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
EFM certification or completion of the fetal heart rate monitoring assessment exam
ACLS
PALS

Required Health and Compliance Items

Fit mask clearance
Respirator safety clearance
Negative TB screening or chest X-ray
Tdap within 10 years
Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, flu season documentation, and COVID documentation or declination as applicable
Drug screening
Physical exam
References
Employment application with at least the last 5 years of employment
Skills checklist
Background check and required state/facility screenings

Additional Notes

RTO is limited to no more than 7 days.
