Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Job in York, Pennsylvania

Position Overview

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Invasive Cardiology Unit)
  • Location: York, Pennsylvania
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
  • Weekend: As needed
  • Call: May be required
  • Holidays: No call
  • Floating: As needed
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Unit Information

  • Invasive Cardiology unit with:
    • 4 dedicated Cardiac Catheterization Labs
    • 2 dedicated Electrophysiology Labs
    • 23 prep/recovery bays
  • Performs over 6,000 procedures annually including:
    • Complex coronary procedures
    • Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
    • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
    • Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
    • Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
    • Cardioversion
    • Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
    • Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy procedures
  • May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • Certifications: ACLS & BLS required
  • EPIC Experience: Required
  • Interview Process: Clinical screening followed by manager interview

Scheduling Notes

  • Must be willing to stay until the last patient is cared for
  • Weekend shifts as needed
  • Call may be required but no call on holidays
  • Floating to other units as needed

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required, must be finalized prior to start
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days

Certifications & Verifications

  • ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • State License primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • Education verification of highest level (degree, diploma, or transcripts)
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (for RNs except OR and Home Health)
  • Tech Cert Verification as applicable

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (pass/fail with remediation process)

Health Documents

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles) – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Mumps – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Rubella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B – positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required annually by October 31
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific Documents

  • Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid light background)
  • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form (preferred within 90 days of start)
  • Review and sign:
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • I9 and Documentation Attestation (agency to complete)
  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules for RNs and CNAs prior to start
  • Hepatitis B declination form if applicable
  • Safety and Security Vehicle Registration (if applicable)

History & Other Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Most recent resume/application
  • Annual skills checklist
  • Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, advanced cardiovascular invasive cardiology unit with a variety of complex procedures. Candidates must meet strict credentialing, health, and compliance requirements to ensure patient safety and regulatory adherence.
