Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (10:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
- Call Requirements: One 12-hour shift per month on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), either 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no time off allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
- Floating: Mandatory floating within scope of practice as needed
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room (OR)
- Specialty Experience:
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Strong scrub and circulate skills
- Experience in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
- Preferred Experience: Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Illinois
- Local Candidates: Accepted and preferred; must live within 75 miles of the facility

Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID
- Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, required annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing as required
- Mandatory annual skills checklist
Notes
- No pending licenses accepted
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
