Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (10:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
• Call Requirements: One 12-hour shift per month on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), either 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no time off allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
• Floating: Mandatory floating within scope of practice as needed
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room (OR)
• Specialty Experience:

  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Strong scrub and circulate skills
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
• Preferred Experience: Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Illinois
• Local Candidates: Accepted and preferred; must live within 75 miles of the facility

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, required annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing as required
• Mandatory annual skills checklist

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
