Job Description

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Accepts first-time travelers.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• On-call and floating duties expected.
• Work settings include Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, MS/Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Telemetry.
• Nursing tasks include managing drips such as Cardizem/Diltiazem, Cardene, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Nitroglycerine, Milrinone, and insulin drips.
• Care for patients in respiratory distress up to but excluding ventilator care.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 1:5.
• Epic electronic health record experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Certification preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year.
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED).
• Med Surg and Telemetry experience.
• Proficient with Epic electronic health record system.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

• Candidates must be prepared for floating and on-call responsibilities.
• Some specialized nursing skills required related to PCU unique drips and patient care.
• Badge photo required (shoulders up, solid light background).
• Confidentiality agreement must be signed prior to assignment start.
• Orientation is virtual and can be completed prior to start date.
• Candidates must complete facility-specific forms if requesting medical or religious exemptions for vaccines.
• Annual competency exams and color blindness testing required.
• Skills checklist must be updated annually.

Summary

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a 13-week contract in Indiana. The role requires at least 2 years of RN experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and Epic experience. Candidates should be comfortable with telemetry and PCU nursing tasks including managing cardiac and insulin drips. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
