Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Los Alamitos, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
• 1-hour meal break
• No call or weekend requirements
• 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with experience within the last year

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (for RNs and LVNs if applicable)
• Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., ICU exam for Burn ICU and Interventional Radiology RNs)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam for Telemetry RNs (not required for CNAs)
• Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens exam with a minimum passing score of 80%
• Per diem RNs must pass a medication/calculation exam and an Arrhythmia Recognition Assessment (EKG exam) with an 80% passing score

Orientation and Documentation

• Completion and signing of facility-specific job description prior to start
• Signed confidentiality agreement within 72 hours of signing
• Review and acknowledgment of facility policies including:

  • Workplace violence prevention
  • Sexual violence and sexual harassment policy
  • Epidural pain policy (for RNs)
  • Standard of care for skin care (for RN, LVN, CNA)
• Completion of skills self-assessment (for RNs, LVNs, MAs)
• Review of infection control study guide prior to exam
• First Day Instructions and orientation modules provided; some modules completed onsite or remotely
• Pyxis agreement required for Travel and Per Diem RNs and Respiratory Therapists, due 5 business days before orientation

Additional Information

• Candidates may sign a declination form for COVID booster or full series; masking required if not fully vaccinated
• Universal masking policy applies for candidates not fully vaccinated for COVID and without current flu vaccination
• Badge issuance and identification requirements apply (Aya Healthcare badge for per diem candidates)
• Physical and health requirements are not required for off-site medical coders or auditors
