Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry Night Shift

Unit and Shift Details

• Unit: Neuro/Ortho, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
• Shift: Night (3 shifts of 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience not required

Licensure and Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri accepted; pending license accepted
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required
• NIH Stroke Certification required (must be updated annually)
• Other certifications may be required based on unit (refer to unit-specific requirements):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) not required for this unit
  • Additional certifications such as TNCC, PALS, NRP, CPI, MAB, EFM may apply in other units but are not specified here

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

• Floating within scope of practice to other units allowed, except ICU, Step-Down Unit, and Emergency Department
• No on-call requirement
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Local radius rule: candidates must be outside a 75-mile radius (locals not accepted)
• Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days within the 13-week contract

• Acute Care Hospital with 233 staffed beds
• Electronic charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license)
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
• Missouri-specific background checks including Family Care Safety Registry and Highway Patrol checks
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, covering a comprehensive panel of substances; must remain valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually; onsite fit testing available if needed
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Annual completion of facility-specific regulatory compliance education and HIPAA acknowledgement
• Completion of facility policies including hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code prior to start
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
