Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location

  • Fredericksburg, Virginia

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend plus every other holiday
  • On Call: Mandatory, 3 shifts per 6-week scheduling period
  • Floating: Must be able to float within scope to ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units
  • Block scheduling: Not allowed
  • Locals accepted
  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Adult critical care, Emergency Room, Community hospital
  • Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center
  • Total Staffed Beds: 431
  • Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care in adult critical care, ER, and stepdown units
  • Float to ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units as needed
  • Manage airway, administer respiratory medications, perform ABGs, and provide oxygen therapy
  • Implement and manage CPAP/BiPAP therapies
  • Provide aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies during night shifts
  • Participate in department meetings or review minutes

  • Manager discretion on return-to-office restrictions
  • No block scheduling allowed

This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with solid adult critical care and emergency experience who are flexible with floating and on-call duties, and who can commit to night shifts in a Level II trauma center environment. First-time travel therapists are welcome.
