Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Evening Shift)

Shift Details

• Evening shift: 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• 2 weekend shifts required per contract

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Prior travel experience not required

Required Certifications (must have at time of submission)

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic charting experience required

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse license for Kansas
• Primary source online license verification required (e.g., NURSYS)

• Work within a 50-mile local radius; local candidates not accepted

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Education verification of highest level completed
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
• E-Verify compliance required
• Fingerprinting required for certain states (not applicable here unless specified)
• Employment application and 7-year work history verification required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year of start
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Competency and Skills

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable (minimum 80% passing score)
• Color blindness test required (online version acceptable)
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually

Additional Documentation

• Clear headshot photo for badge
• Vehicle information form must be signed prior to start

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas with primary source online verification (e.g., NURSYS)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
