Job Description

• Position: RN Main OR / GI
• Requirements:

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Endoscopy experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
  • GI Lab experience
  • Special Procedures experience
  • Geriatrics experience
  • Advanced procedure experience
  • Must be able to work 5x8s, plus call
  • Assist or circulate during advanced GI procedures such as:

    • ERCP
    • PEG placement
    • EUS
    • Spyglass
    • FNA/FNB
    • Capsule endoscopy
    • Bronchoscopies and EBUS
  • Experience with moderate sedation and pain management preferred

Certifications Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS - Basic Life Support
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (as applicable)
• CHEMO - Chemotherapy (as applicable)
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (as applicable)
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (as applicable)
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgment
• NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
• State License Verification
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Color Blind Testing Online
• Competency Exam

Health Documents Required

• Physical Exam - Required within 1 year of start.
• Fit Mask - Specific mask type required.
• TDAP Vaccine - Required within 10 years of start.
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray - Required.
• Rubeola (Measles) - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
• Mumps - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
• Rubella - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
• Hepatitis B - Positive Titer, Series (3), or Declination required.
• Varicella - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
• Drug Testing - Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen required.
• Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation - Required for 2024-25.

Background Check

• 7 Year Background Check - Required within 1 year of start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM Check - Required within 30 days of start.
• HHS/OIG Check - Required within 30 days of start.
• References - 2 required within 3 years of start.
• Employment Application - Copy required.
• Education Verification - Required (highest level).

Additional Information

• Candidates must review and sign various acknowledgments and agreements prior to starting.
• Modules will be required during orientation, taking approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
