Job Description
- Position: RN Main OR / GI
- Requirements:
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Endoscopy experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- GI Lab experience
- Special Procedures experience
- Geriatrics experience
- Advanced procedure experience
- Must be able to work 5x8s, plus call
- Assist or circulate during advanced GI procedures such as:
- ERCP
- PEG placement
- EUS
- Spyglass
- FNA/FNB
- Capsule endoscopy
- Bronchoscopies and EBUS
- Experience with moderate sedation and pain management preferred
Certifications Required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (as applicable)
- CHEMO - Chemotherapy (as applicable)
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (as applicable)
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (as applicable)
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgment
- NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
- State License Verification
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing Online
- Competency Exam
Health Documents Required
- Physical Exam - Required within 1 year of start.
- Fit Mask - Specific mask type required.
- TDAP Vaccine - Required within 10 years of start.
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray - Required.
- Rubeola (Measles) - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
- Mumps - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
- Rubella - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
- Hepatitis B - Positive Titer, Series (3), or Declination required.
- Varicella - Positive Titer or 2 Vaccines required.
- Drug Testing - Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen required.
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation - Required for 2024-25.
Background Check
- 7 Year Background Check - Required within 1 year of start.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM Check - Required within 30 days of start.
- HHS/OIG Check - Required within 30 days of start.
- References - 2 required within 3 years of start.
- Employment Application - Copy required.
- Education Verification - Required (highest level).
Additional Information
- Candidates must review and sign various acknowledgments and agreements prior to starting.
- Modules will be required during orientation, taking approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
