Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Long Term Care (LTC)

Job Description

• Assist the Physical Therapist in treating patients of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care.
• Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups.
• Collaborate directly with the Physical Therapist to modify and implement patient care plans.
• Communicate with families to recommend effective at-home techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the physical therapy area.
• Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork.
• Teach patients techniques including balance training.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience.
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.

Facility Environment

• Skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation facility with 282 beds.
• Diverse patient population including orthopedic, cognitive, dietary, and neurological diagnoses.
• Mix of short-term rehab patients and long-term care residents.
• Collaborative, high-energy in-house therapy team.

Additional Information

• 8 hours of NBO (New Business Orientation) required.
