Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Contract Position

Job Description

• Provide bedside nursing care for Med Surg patients of all ages.
• Assist with patient care on ER, postpartum, and stepdown units (no patient load, assisting only).
• Utilize equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Hill-rom beds and call system, Kangaroo pumps, and Quadramed Pyxis medication system.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:5, may increase to 1:6 during emergent surgeries.
• Unit has 20 rooms with 35 beds.
• Shift schedule is variable; weekends are required.
• On-call may be necessary during low census periods.
• No specific dress code color required.

Orientation and Training

• Day 1: HR and education.
• Day 2: Restraint training.
• Shadow one shift before working independently.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience.
• Wyoming RN state license.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.

Schedule

• Approximately 36 hours per week.
• Traveler should be flexible to fill gaps; no guaranteed block or set schedule.

• Candidate may require time off during assignment (to be discussed).
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
