Care for post open heart surgery and cardiac medical patients
Management of ventilated and tracheostomy patients, including trach care
Experience with post heart catheterization recovery and post-op day 1 open heart surgery patients
Use of Epic electronic charting system, Omnicell medication administration, B. Braun IV pumps, Avea ventilators, Edwards and Phillips patient monitoring systems
20-bed CVICU unit
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 and 1:2

12-hour shifts, every other weekend (may require consecutive weekends to accommodate time off)
No scheduled call required; may be placed on mandatory standby due to low census during scheduled shift
Floating required: ICU, IMCU, ED first; then Medical Surgical, telemetry, post-surgical, ortho neuro units
Travelers float prior to regular staff and may serve as resource nurses with reduced assignments on med-surg floors

12 hours of non-billable orientation during the first work week focused on CVICU unit specifics

Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
Call-off/cancellation allowed up to 24 hours per 13-week contract
Dress code: Standard scrubs (any color), no visible neck or above tattoos, facial jewelry limited to earrings and a small discreet nose stud (max 1.5 mm)
