Location

Contract Length

13 weeks

Unit

29-bed Stepdown/MedSurg unit
Flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients
Primarily medical diagnoses

Schedule

12-hour night shifts
Weekend position
Expect to work about half of recognized holidays
No call or standby requirement

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS (AHA)
Epic experience
Able to manage either 6 med-surg patients or 3 stepdown patients
Able to titrate drips as ordered
Charge experience

Preferred

New or experienced nurses accepted

Clinical Details

Ratios: 3:1 for stepdown, 6:1 for floor
Common titratable/set-rate drips include heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbitol, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
CPAP and BiPAP on floor and stepdown
HiFlow and vents in stepdown
Central monitoring available on the unit; nurses are not expected to read their own strips
Charge RNs and House Supervisors are available 24/7
First to float or be pulled to other floor/stepdown units
Scrub color: any combination of royal blue and white
