ICU (Intensive Care Unit) RN

Overview

• Location: Chandler, Arizona
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Unit: ICU with 32 beds in the Surgical ICU and 36 Medical Cardiac beds plus 12 overflow beds

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of recent ICU experience
• Experience must include either neuro or CV
• Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Arizona license or compact license
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with 2 max attempts
• Must pass a Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation

Preferred

• TNCC
• Level 1 experience
• Neuro experience
• Prior experience in a similar-size ICU

Unit Details

• Surgical ICU patients include trauma, neuro-surgery, CVA, status post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, and ARDS
• Medical Cardiac/Overflow patients include sepsis, COVID, DKA, flu, ARDS, vascular surgeries, and CVICU cases such as CABG, valves, post-caths, TAVR, IABP, Impella, ECMO, Tandem heart, and esophagectomies
• RN is required to titrate drips and interpret own strips
• No monitor techs on the unit
• Charge nurse does not take patients
• RT is in ICU 24/7
• Self-scheduling is available
• Navy scrubs

Scheduling and Float

• Typically every other weekend is required, with the possibility of up to 3 weekends per month if the unit is busy
• May have 1 holiday off
• No additional call/standby
• May be low censused up to 3 times per contract
• May float to tele as needed
• Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs
• May also float to the sister facility if needed

• Must be flexible
