Registered Nurse – Medical (Contract)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Overview

Provide med/surg level care for patients aged 18 and over.
May float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units.
Work various shift lengths and days; flexibility required.
Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation.
No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
Day or night shift availability to be determined.

Work Environment

Unit uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, and other medical equipment.
Medical unit bed size: 50 beds.
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5.
Dress code: Professional nursing attire, closed-toe shoes; no specific scrub colors required.

Orientation & Onboarding

Department-specific training and orientation included during the first week.
Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii.
Minimum 2 years of med/surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
BLS certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Notes

No holiday return-to-office (RTO) requests allowed.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
