Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
Call Requirements: None scheduled; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract
Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Unit Beds: 40


Job Description

  • Work on a Joint Commission Accredited community hospital and regional referral center with Level 3 Trauma designation and Certified Chest Pain Center.
  • Patient types include total joint, surgical, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), and gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB).
  • Floating to other units such as Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) is expected.
  • Orientation is provided weekly.
  • No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts can be considered but are not guaranteed.
  • Dress code requires black scrubs (top and bottom); open shoes are not allowed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
  • Acute care experience
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a preceptor or charge nurse is a plus.
