Overview

Travel RN role in PACU
Contract length: 13 weeks
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Schedule includes 9, 10, and 12 hour shifts
On call after 9:30 p.m.; weekend call rotates among staff
Floating areas: none

Unit details

PACU has 19 main beds and 4 Atrium PACU beds
Staff includes RNs, a Clinical Coordinator, and Department Assistants
Patient ratios: 2:1, 1:1 for unstable ICU patients, and 1:1 for pediatric patients

Required qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
Ventilator competency
ACLS
PALS

Preferred qualifications

ICU or PACU experience
Drip titration
Neurosurgery

Typical procedures

Set up PCA pump
Drip titration
Arterial line blood draw
