Job Description

• Provide critical, fast-paced nursing care for patients undergoing minimally invasive cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures.
• Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization cases.
• Administer conscious sedation and manage moderate to deep sedation, including critical medication administration and continuous hemodynamic monitoring.
• Review patient medical history and allergies; provide patient education regarding procedures.
• Procedures include diagnostic and minimally invasive interventional cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular procedures, cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (5 days a week, 8-hour shifts)
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements

Unit Information

• Cardiac Catheterization Lab
• 36 inpatient beds and 18 ER beds in the facility
• Patient ratio approximately 3:1
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC (required)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system

Skills

• Must have circulating and documentation experience in cardiac catheterization procedures
• Preferred: scrubbing experience
