Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Position

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Neurology, Palliative Care
Shift: Night
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
Call Requirements: None
Number of Openings: 1
Float Requirements: Must float when needed

Unit Information

Unit: 5 West
Number of Beds: 41
Patient Ratio: 6:1
Equipment: Alaris IV pumps
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Patient Population: Med/Surg, Oncology, Neuro, Palliative Care

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Alabama
Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience, including experience within the last year
Medical-Surgical nursing experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Nasogastric tube (NGT) placement skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience specifically in Medical-Surgical nursing

Work Environment & Culture

Dress Code: Navy scrubs required; fleece is not acceptable attire
Personality Fit: Demonstrates commitment, curiosity, communication, and connection ("4 Cs")

This is a travel nursing role requiring flexibility to float to other units as needed.
The unit cares for a diverse patient population including oncology and palliative care patients.
