RN - Newborn Nursery (Travel Contract)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Call Requirements: No call required
Weekends: Rotating
Unit Overview
- Acute hospital, 3rd floor
- Newborn Nursery, 40 beds
- Approximately 40 staff including RNs and support staff
- Night shift typical staffing: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs (5 staff total during weekdays, 4 on weekends)
- Patient ratios: 1:5 to 1:6
- EMR systems used: CPN and Meditech
- Permanent night positions available
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Nursery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Minimum 1 year of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 2 years of experience in Newborn or NICU nursing
