RN - Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Wilson, North Carolina Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 40 Openings: 1
Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 to 5:30 with a 30-minute lunch
- Four 10-hour days
- No weekend hours
- No call requirements
- Orientation is bi-weekly. Upcoming start dates: 10/26, 11/9, 11/23
Unit and Role Details
- Department: Cath Lab, 1st floor
- Number of beds: 1 lab
- Patient ratio: 3:1
- Equipment: GE Innova X-ray, Merge Hemo
- Patient population: Adult and geriatric
- Common diagnoses/treatment: CAD, PAD, NSTEMI, PE, DVT
- Float requirement: Interventional Radiology
- Scrub color provided
- Reports to: RN Director
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience (2 years)
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing

Pros
Doctors and most of staff are nice. Surgeries are not hard.
Cons
No staff so a lot of call. You will be on call within your first week or two, even if you don't know how to do anything. Unorganized. The director and supervisor don't know anything about the OR nor are they helpful. New staff are not properly trained. Everything falls on the OR nurse to do. They preop in house patients getting surgery. A couple of OR staff are bullies and lazy, they all think they are the boss. They tell the charge nurse what they are going to do and not going to do. Its like high school all over. Had to leave out of fear for my license.
