Facility & Unit Overview

• 8-bed ICU unit on the 2nd floor
• Patient population: Adult and Geriatric
• Patient ratio: 2:1
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Meditech Magic
• No call requirements
• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts per week, alternating every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Float requirements: MedSurg, Behavioral Health

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Registered Nurse license valid in Kentucky
• Certifications:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • CPI/HWC/MAB
  • NIH
  • PALS
  • AHA EKG/rhythm course
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in critical care specialty (ICU)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Common Diagnoses & Treatments

• Respiratory failure
• Sepsis
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Gastrointestinal (GI) bleed
• Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (Afib RVR)
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chronic Renal Failure

Dress Code

• Scrubs: Any solid color
• Unacceptable attire: Crocs, "Hey Dudes" shoes, t-shirts with logos, scrubs with cartoon characters

Additional Notes

• Orientation is weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• Facility reserves the right to require additional certifications as needed
