Travel RN Opportunity – ICU

Location: Derry, New Hampshire

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: ICU
• Number of Beds: 8
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Staffing: Mixed patient population, open ICU, goal staffing 4 RNs 24/7
• Equipment: GE B650 cardiac monitors, ventilators, Gaymar cooling
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling encouraged, every other weekend (EOW), overtime available if desired, flexible scheduling
• Floating Policy: ICU nurses may float to critical care or intermediate care areas as needed

Patient Experience Focus

• AIDET communication validation during orientation
• Emphasis on nurse communication: listening carefully and explaining clearly
• Use of white boards, hourly rounding, bedside care conferences/hand-offs

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Medical and Surgical ICU experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification required
• Preferred: AIBP experience and CCRN certification preferred
• Licenses: Valid Registered Nurse License

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Ventilator care
• Therapeutic hypothermia
• PCI/STEMI care
• Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
• Invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)/cardioversion
• Temporary pacemaker management
• Sepsis management
• Stroke/TPA administration
• Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) management
