Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU Nights)
- Shift: Nights
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years ICU experience
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period, every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
- Additional preferred certifications depending on unit: PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, CPI/MAB (check unit specifics)
Special Requirements & Skills
- Experience with hemodynamics and ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Prefer experience with relevant machines and EPIC electronic charting system
- Skilled in bedside tracheostomies and PEG tube care
- Frequent cardiac outpatient monitoring experience preferred

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required
- Professional license primary source verification (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include full panel and be valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95 required, PAPR not available)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Completion of facility orientation modules (~16 hours) through WorkRamp required before start
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually

- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Employment application and performance evaluations may be required

- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility and state-specific background and health screening requirements
- Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
