Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 32 weeks
Job Description
- Urgent need with ASAP start
- Schedule: No call, 1-2 weekends per month, must be flexible
- Distance measured as straight line, not driving distance
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Must be flexible with schedule; no block schedules allowed
- Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November to April
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ARRT or ARMRIT license required
- MR advanced licensure required
- ACLS and PALS certifications may be required depending on unit/job description
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Phillips MRI equipment experience required
- Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- Prior travel experience preferred (not strictly required)
- Additional:
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
- Complete and detailed work history required (including bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.)
Compliance & Documentation
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification based on highest degree relevant to the job
- National tech certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
- Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent form required
- COVID-19 related documentation and vaccination attestation required (including flu vaccine or exemption during flu season)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- N95 Fit Test required prior to assignment and updated annually
- Immunizations required: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT within past 12 months)
- Drug testing may be required depending on facility location
- Skills checklist within 12 months and 2 professional references from assignments within 3 years
- Employment application and work history verification for the past 2 years required
Facility Specific Notes
- Must complete EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start
- Photo for badge required (passport style, plain background, no logos or hats)
- Auto insurance required if using personal or rental vehicle
- Must review dress code and telephone usage policies prior to start
- COVID testing protocol on Day 1 of work may be required
- Various facility-specific forms and attestations must be completed in a timely manner
Important Considerations
- Public transportation is not accessible in the area; reliable transportation is essential
- Vehicle must be equipped for winter conditions (Nov-April)
- No block scheduling allowed; must be available Monday through Sunday as needed
This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, Phillips MRI equipment expertise, and recent Epic system experience, who are flexible and able to work in a teaching hospital environment.
