Job Summary: Speech Pathologist (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Speech Pathology with an M.A. or M.S. degree.
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in California.
• New graduates are accepted.
• Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts (08:00 AM - 04:30 PM). No call and no weekends.

Required Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC only).
• MA or MS Degree in Speech Pathology.
• California state license (or eligibility).
• No prior travel experience required.

Background Check Requirements

• 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:

  • Social Security trace with all aliases
  • County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide sex offender search
  • Education verification (highest level achieved)
  • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
• EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks required and updated annually or monthly as applicable.
• Transcript/Diploma verification or attestation if verification unsuccessful.
• Pending background check attestation not accepted at certain facilities; conditional clearances require approval.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and other certifications may be required depending on position specifics (verify with recruiter).
• State License verification required within 30 days of start.
• Tech Cert Verification (national) required within 30 days of start as applicable.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work).
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
• Color blind exam if applicable (in-person exam only).
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually (exceptions apply).

Employment History & References

• Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps.
• Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
• 2 professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates; 1 for per diem non-acute care.
