Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Description
- Position: MRI Technologist
- Schedule: Monday to Sunday, no block schedules allowed
- Call: No call required
- Weekend Requirement: 1-2 weekends per month, flexibility needed
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
- Distance measured as straight line, not driving distance
Requirements
- Licensure:
- ARRT or ARMRIT license required
- MR advanced licensure required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
- Technical Skills:
- Phillips MRI equipment experience required
Orientation & Scheduling
- Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type required for submission
Transportation
- Public transportation is NOT accessible in the area
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April
Required Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification based on job requirements
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- NURSYS verification for applicable professions (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and search
- Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC) criminal background check (for Vermont placements)
- References: 2 professional references from assignments within last 3 years
- Employment application and skills checklist within 12 months
- Work history verification for last 2 years of clinical work
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required by unit/job
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required
- Tech Certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as required
- Color blind testing required
- Competency exams as required by specialty
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- N95 Fit Mask test prior to start and annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or titer
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest X-ray if positive TB test
- TB questionnaire annually if positive TB
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Drug testing within last 12 months (required for NY facilities)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination required
- Pneumonia vaccination or declination required if assigned to NY facility
Facility Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge (plain light background, no logos/hats/sunglasses) due 2 weeks prior to start
- Review dress code and telephone usage policies prior to start
- Auto registration form must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract
- COVID testing protocol on Day 1 of work (early morning testing, mask wearing, social distancing)
- Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start (8 hours, non-billable)
- Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent form and client-specific consent form required
- Emergency contact form completion required
- Hepatitis B and Pneumonia vaccination declination forms if applicable
- NameTag verification setup required
- Workday information attestation required
Additional Notes
- No block scheduling allowed
- Must provide complete and accurate work history and documentation
- Reliable transportation is critical due to lack of public transit
- Must comply with all health, safety, and facility-specific protocols
