MRI Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Clearwater, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Daily Caseload: 15-25 patients per tech
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital
- Work Settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Hospital, Adult ICU
- Equipment: Siemens MRI (two 3Tesla magnets: Trio and Skyra)
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- On-call Requirement: Yes, 2 call shifts per month
- Floating: Not required within or to sister facilities
- Locals: Not accepted
- Block Schedule: To be discussed during interview if applicable
- Guaranteed Hours: Apply after first call off per pay period
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT Advanced Certification
- Experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Proficient with PACS and contrast administration
- Knowledge and experience with neuro exams including brains, perfusions, diffusion, vascular exams, and pre/post neurosurgery exams
- Experience working with Cerner EMR system
- Ability to work independently with strong communication skills
- Patient safety as top priority
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
Required Documents & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License (must remain current throughout assignment)
- Background Checks (within 1 year):
- Standard 7-year history including SS Trace, County, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Foreign Equivalency Evaluation (if education completed outside USA or Puerto Rico)
- Education Verification or Transcript/Diploma
- Florida AHCA Level II Fingerprint Clearance (must be completed prior to start)
- Physical Exam (within 6 months of start)
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray if prior positive PPD
- Annual TB Questionnaire (for travel staff only)
- Immunizations or Titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug Testing: Standard 9 Panel within 30 days (instant tests not accepted)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (mask required if declined)
- COVID-19 Vaccination (exemptions accepted)
- Respirator Medical Clearance (if respirator use required)
- Photo for Badge (clear, professional, solid background)
- Dress Code & Tobacco Policy Acknowledgement
- Completion of required online modules via facility’s learning center prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
- References: 2 from past 2 years (clinical candidates only)

Additional Requirements
- Stroke Education CEUs (8 total) including NIH Stroke Certification and mRS (Modified Rankin Scale) certification preferred for related units
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score ≥80%) as applicable
- Color Blindness Testing (Relias online exam) prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for certain units (not applicable for MRI Tech)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification not required for this role

- First-time travel MRI Techs are accepted
- Weekend requirements to be discussed during interview if applicable
- Candidates must have RTO (Ready to Offer) status in profile for offer consideration

- Scrub colors allowed: Navy Blue, Burgundy, or Khaki
