Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry Unit (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Work on a fast-paced, 25-bed Medical-Surgical unit with Telemetry experience.
• Patient types include Inpatient, Observation, and Swing bed.
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients.
• Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week).
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call or floating to other units.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Experience in an Inpatient setting.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Required Background and Health Checks

• 7-year background check (updated annually).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required annually.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
• Immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella as applicable.
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background).
• Review and sign dress code policy prior to start.
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable.
