Job Opportunity: EP Tech (Electrophysiology Technician)

Job Description

• Position is for an EP Tech with experience in invasive electrophysiology procedures.
• Work schedule: Monday - Friday, no call, 8-10 hour shifts as determined by department needs.
• Must have 2+ years of experience in the Electrophysiology Lab.
• Experience with 3D mapping, EP recording systems, advanced ablation (including A-Fib), ICE procedures, cardiac rhythm management interrogation and programming (multi-vendor devices).
• Familiarity with GE Cardio lab and/or St Jude Work Mate equipment preferred.
• EP procedure/equipment and CRM programming experience preferred.
• EPIC experience is required, no exceptions.

Education & Certification Requirements

• Minimum education: Associate’s degree or higher.
• Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology program towards obtaining a Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist registry.
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NASPE/RCES or RCIS with EP experience or registry eligible.

Licensure & Compliance

• Must have a valid state license with primary source verification.
• No license or background hits will be considered; candidates must have a clean background.

Required Documents & Compliance Checks

• I9 verification (for direct placements).
• Government-issued photo ID carried during hours of service.
• E-Verify compliance (for direct placements).
• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• Transcript or diploma proof of highest degree obtained.
• Fingerprinting per Virginia VSP National Criminal Background Check requirements (effective 7/15/2025).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 1 year, with additional requirements if history of positive.
• Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year, updated annually (PAPR not allowed).
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (or approved exemption with mask requirement).
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge before start (specific photo requirements).
• Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually.
• Pass/fail EKG/medication competency testing required for all RNs (not applicable here but noted for facility standards).
• References: Proof of 2 references required.

Summary
