Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse

Location: Apple Valley, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
• Schedule: Block schedule Monday through Wednesday; flexibility to work Monday through Saturday (no Sundays) may be considered
• No on-call required
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital with 212 staffed beds
• Charting System: Epic (experience highly preferred)
• Parking: Free

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of wound care experience, including experience within the last year
• Wound Care Certification or WCON
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Requirements

• Background Checks: Must have a background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations and screenings including:

    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant acceptable with attestation)
  • Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
• Competency Exams: Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Work History: Employment application covering at least last 5 years; explanation for gaps or overlaps required
• Photo: Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required

Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles radius are considered
• Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
• Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• No pending license accepted
• Return to office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission

This position offers a structured day shift with a focus on wound care nursing in an acute care setting, requiring solid hospital experience and wound care certification. Epic experience is highly preferred.
