<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 14, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a day-shift position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and an active MI RN license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting</li><li>Patient ratio of 1:5</li><li>Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM</li><li>Required to work every other weekend</li><li>No on-call requirements</li><li>Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume and census, with priority given to similar acuity units</li><li>Uses Paragon charting system</li><li>Epic charting experience required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active RN license (Michigan) required</li><li>Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; CPI preferred</li><li>Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required</li><li>Prior travel nursing experience required</li><li>Community hospital experience preferred</li><li>Charge nurse experience preferred</li><li>Epic EMR charting experience required</li><li>Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drip management preferred</li><li>Experience with respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care) preferred</li><li>Experience with neurological and orthopedic patient populations preferred</li><li>First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care</li><li>Scrub color is flexible with no specific requirement</li><li>Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during a holiday period, travelers must be willing to work at least one of the three major holidays</li><li>Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this position</li><li>Local candidates will not be accepted</li><li>Previous employees must have a gap of at least 3 years before returning as a traveler</li><li>Candidates should be prepared to complete up to 8 hours of orientation modules within one week of signing, ideally completed prior to start</li></ul>
