Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Role Overview
Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool traveler. Floating is required, with assignment coverage to PICU and NICU.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Critical Care Float (1 year of experience)
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Experience with Epic
- Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
- Every other weekend coverage required
- First-time travelers accepted
Unit / Float Scope
- Pediatric Float Pool
- May float to PICU and NICU
Patient Population / Care Areas
- Pediatric acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care patients
- Pediatric Acute Care Surgical (PACS): surgical, cardiology, endocrine, gastroenterology, plastics, trauma, ortho, urology, and pediatric overflow medical patients
- Pediatric Acute Care Medical (PACM): medicine, pulmonology, adolescents, family medicine, and more
- Pediatric Intermediate Care (PIMC): neurosurgery, neurology, nephrology, orthopedics, and general pediatric patients, including some total care patients with or without ventilator support
- Pediatric Oncology (Hem/Onc): acute and intermediate patients with new diagnosis, ongoing chemo regimens, and bone marrow transplants
- PICU: critical care for pediatric patients
- NICU: preterm neonates in critical condition and infants who need to feed and grow due to weight
