Job Description

Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health. Responsibilities include:

• Implementing the nursing process through effective, relationship-based nursing care
• Demonstrating technical skills that ensure safe practice and positive patient outcomes
• Communicating clearly and collaborating effectively to optimize patient care and clinical operations
• Contributing to professional nursing practice and displaying leadership to influence clinical and operational outcomes
• Using a variety of technical equipment such as stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and electronic monitoring devices

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Compliance Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval
• MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer
• Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer
• Hepatitis B: Proof of full series or partial series with signed declination accepted; positive titers accepted within 15 years
• Tdap: Vaccination within last 10 years required; no declinations accepted
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (October–March); declination requires mask-wearing and completion of specific forms
• Tuberculosis Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within last 6 months required annually; if positive, clear chest X-ray and current TB questionnaire required
• Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start and updated annually (specific mask models required)
• Physical Exam: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions
• Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screens not accepted
• Background Checks: Criminal background check within 6 months, including social security trace, county searches, national sex offender registry, OIG search, and federal exclusions screening
• Fingerprints: Ohio fingerprinting and national database criminal background check required based on residency duration
• Education and Employment Verification: Highest education level and employment within last 5 years verified through third party
• Skills Checklist and Competency Exams: Clinical skills checklist and competency exams with minimum passing scores required within 1 year prior to start
• Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics with minimum passing score required within 1 year prior to start
• Photo ID: Non-expired driver's license or state ID required

Additional Notes
